AVEJMJ
Wonderful gift 2018 for the people of Bethlehem and 2019 for young people throughout the world!
AVE as Ave (Hail Mary) and JMJ as Jornada Mundial de la Joventud and Jesus, Mary, Joseph!
Dear Friends,
After the recent worldwide distribution of the book, «To love is to give everything!« of which several million copies have been distributed, in particular to the JMJ of Cracow, Pope Francis expressed a concrete wish: that young people pray for peace in the world! To this end, they will be offered a rosary during the WYD in Panama which will take place in January 2019 under the theme «Behold the servant of the Lord, let it be done to me according to your word! » (Lk 1,38).
To this end, an olive wood rosary will be made in the Holy Land by needy families, young unemployed, refugees and families of detainees of this region so troubled by violent tensions but so hoping for peace.
Caritas Jerusalem has kindly facilitated this arrangement. They will be able to give work for several months to hundreds of needy families in Bethlehem and surroundings. With his help, we must raise a minimum of 200,000 olive tree rosaries per month, if we want to reach the goal of 1.5 million copies needed to be distributed at the beginning of next year. The rosary, which can be worn as a bracelet, will be offered to young people during WYD and costs us a CHF/USD coin to produce.
In concrete terms, given the importance and urgency of this project, which we call AVEJMJ, donations can be made to the CH-postal account of the SJMVL Association www.sjmvlausanne.org
